I have been contemplating on what direction I wanted to take my blog. I enjoy writing about new articles of clothing. I enjoy sharing new make up products I have tried and fell in love with. I will still write about those things, however, I want to take the blog to a whole new level. I want the blog to serve a purpose. I want to reach out to others and encourage them to live original and be the best/beautiful you. Being the best/beautiful you does not mean you need to purchase the newest trend of clothing or try the new contouring make up trick. Being the best/beautiful you is about living original. I want us to be able to look into ourselves and find our unique talents, skills, and what truly makes us happy. Many times we deal with the struggle of managing weight, styling our hair, and lacking self confidence. I want this blog to encourage others to be a positive example. I want others to help motivate each other and be that striving force to excel. This blog is going to contain scriptures, motivational stories and quotes. It will also contain beauty tricks to make life simpler, and clothing styles to spark up an idea of what you may already have in your closet but haven’t worn in a while. I hope you all enjoy the content to come. Have a blessed day.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

I apologize for taking a brief break from blogging. I am officially back and I am excited to start up again.  A lot has happened within the past month. I want to start off my journey back with a praise report.

A few weeks ago, my grandfather suffered two major strokes. The second stroke paralyzed the left side of his body.  The physician had wrote my grandfather off, she told the family he would never walk, move, or be the same ever again.  During the time of weakness, my grandfather continued to quote scriptures,  pray,  and praise God in the time of his storm.

While the family was gathered around my grandfather’s hospital bed saying their good-byes and trying to remain strong for him, he remained to be strongest one in the entire room.  He fought with every breath he had left to speak and tell the whole family to follow God.  He displayed a true representation of God’s servant.  My grandfather made it past that evening.  By the grace of God he received a new physician that day.  His new physician had hope,  he displayed confidence that my grandfather would make it through this rough patch.  Later we found out he was a follower of God.

A week after the strokes,  my grandfather began to gain strength, he began to talk,  and began to open up his eyes.  A few days ago,  with the help of assistance,  my grandfather sat up for the first time since the strokes. As of today, my grandfather is talking more clearly,  undergoing physical therapy,  and slowly recovering from two massive strokes.

I want to praise God for everything he has done for my grandfather.  We all believed he was in his last days.  God had a different plan, he showed us that my grandfather’s time here on earth is not over.  My grandfather has shown his strength,  he has shown his commitment to God,  and he has been given the chance to witness to anyone that comes within sight of him.

If you are reading this,  I want to let you know that what you have read is a true representation of God’s love and healing.  God was in control of my grandfather’s situation the whole time. At times we may feel that we are in control of our lives.  Most of us have our lives mapped out to the end of time.  I want you to know that your plan does not matter,  the only plan that matters is God’s plan for you.  If you are unsure of what your purpose is here on this earth,  pray and seek God.  He is the only one that can lead you down the path set out for you.  If you have any questions,  please feel free to ask.  Thank you for reading.  God bless.

The woman I desire to be…a Proverbs 31 woman

 2015-01-18 14.47.06Proverbs 31: 25-26

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”

I remember sitting down one day and wondering where my life was going. I felt like my life was at a stand-still, I felt like I was not utilizing my skills and knowledge on a daily basis, and I was unsure of where to go next. I then came across this scripture and remembered that I have nothing to worry about. I can live my life worry free of what the future holds for me because I am a Proverbs 31 woman. God has clothed me with strength and dignity, he has provided me favor with my superiors, and he has provided me with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. When we speak, we need to speak with wisdom and kindness.  There comes a time when we are spoken to poorly. Whether it comes from a customer or patient at work, or comes from a friend or family member. Remember to stay kind, it’s easy to fight back with words, but it takes wisdom to hold back and remain kind to the person that has wronged you. I will admit, I have fallen short of this advice several times.

Many times, people look to famous actors or musicians and desire to be like them. They are imperfect, so why do we desire this? This scripture illustrates what we should desire to be, and that is a Proverbs 31 woman. God has shared this scripture with me today to share with others.  Some may have heard it before, some may be hearing it for the first time. For whatever reason it may be, God put it in my heart to share. I pray that it speaks to you. God bless.
